Return to Mekubariyama, Wildlife everywhere!

I returned to Mekubariyama to finally complete the hike. The trail was a lot more stable this time however the damage from landslides and water was shocking. After finishing main mountains we took the longer route that follows an old mountain road. We found a family of wild boar waiting to greet us! There were around five baby boars 🐗(Very cute with their striped coats) one stayed on the road staring at us before spring into the forest. A little further I saw something large. At first I thought it was a deer then thought maybe a rock. It then lifted its head and it was a large deer is (Pictured below). The old road was badly damaged by water and many trees had fallen across the road. After getting to the bottom I went off to explore another smaller mountain and visit a ancient tomb (Kofun). After the hike we went to a farm shop and had some delicious locally grown food and bought some huge cucumbers! 🥒
