基山

Today the morning weather report said cloudy rain. I ignored the weatherman and headed out to Kizan to find the beautiful rare red Pasque flowers that grow on top at the start of Spring. It was raining when I arrived at Haruda station but cleared as I reached the trail head. Eventually it became bright and Sunny! I reached the top and found lots of Pasque flowers (Pulsatilla) growing there. The sun kept peering through the clouds. I had some coffee and hiked down enjoying the other wild flowers in the meadow. As I exited the mountain it started to rain more heavily. I went to a public bath and it was raining the whole time so I got quite wet on my return to the station. But it was great to get out and see the flowers!
