I finally made my way to the Kii Mountains,
a place I’d long been thinking about.
After hiking Mt.Gomadan the day before,
I set out for Mt.Obako.
I chose a route that starts at a higher elevation (like a backdoor trail)
and although it involved a series of small ups and downs,
the ridgeline would open up again and again,
which kept things interesting.
Before I knew it, I had reached the summit.
It was still a bit early for fresh greenery,
but just like the day before,
it was such a wonderful place that made me want to come back in a different season.
It seemed that the cherry blossoms were at their peak a bit lower down,
and along the way I could see them blooming in the valleys.
Even on the drive, I passed by fully blooming cherry blossoms several times and it turned into a trip where I discovered many new sides of Nara.
