A great summer hike that ends on Keya beach.

It has been about a year since I visited Tateishiyama last so it was good to go back yesterday. The climb is actually rocky and challenging in places but it is not very high and is worth it for the panoramic views of Keya beach, Hikizu bay and the Itoshima countryside. Lots of wonderful Azure of to stimulate the senses.

The atmosphere on the beach was very inviting with lots of families enjoy the sea, sand and having BBQ's.

A wonderful Summer hike!

Summer hike: blue skies, blue sea 立石山

Today I caught the train down to Imajuku and hiked some small mountains along the coast and visited the various shrines along at home one and other historic sites. I also couldn't resist going for a walk on the beach to feel the sea water on my feet.

Even though the mountains were small they all added up and some of them were like a jungle with lots of spiderwebs in the face! The view from bishamonyama was a great payoff though. Looking out across the sea drinking the frozen lychee drink was wonderful.

After climbing down I walked along Nagahana beach, the sea breeze the cool sea was perfect. I walked through the pine dunes and found the site of an ancient sea wall which was very old and made to repell the mongol invasion of Hakata bay. It was a nice bonus to end the hike.
