Ryokami is one of the 100 famous mountains on the border between Chichibu City and Ogano Town, and is located at the point of contact between the Okuchichibu area and the Nishijoshu area. It is an ancient sacred mountain that is sometimes called "Chichibu Miune" together with Mt. Miune and Mt. Buko, and you can still see stone statues of stone Buddhas and wolves (guardian dogs) that retain the atmosphere of the past.
There are two typical courses. The Hinata Otani course from the bus stop to the summit via Kiyotaki hut (unmanned evacuation hut) and the Hatcho ridge course from Hatcho Pass on the north side to the summit. All of them have a ridge, but especially the Hatchoone course is a series of steep ridges, and the level goes up by one or two steps. In addition, there are paid courses from Shiroisasu on the south side (the easiest in terms of physical strength) and Nanatakizawa course (often slipping down and getting lost), and it is best to choose according to your level. The flowering season of Akayashio is usually from late April to mid-May, and the entire mountaintop is colored pink.
