Koshikidake (elevation 1,301 m) is a steamer-shaped volcano called Koshikidake, which was used in the past. The crater with a diameter of about 500 m has a low moor, which is rare in southern Kyushu. In the marsh, you can see rare animals and plants, such as the carnivorous plant Drosera rotundifolia, which blooms white flowers in summer, and the large dragonfly Aeshna crenata. The mountaintop has a mountain trail that allows you to go around the crater, and you can see Mt. Karakuni and Mt. Io in the south, Kobayashi and Ebino in the northeast and northwest, and the Kakuto Caldera that erupted 340,000 years ago.
