A historic shrine built in the middle of the 6th century by order of Emperor Yomei. Called the Kandake Kumano Sansha, it was a shrine that was revered for generations by the feudal lord Shimazu family. It is said that the name Kushikino is derived from Kushimikenu no Mikoto, the deity enshrined at Kanmuri-dake Shrine. Mt. Kanmuri consists of multiple peaks, including Mt. Higashi, Mt. Naka, and Mt. Nishi, and is a sacred mountain of mountain worship, with a history of syncretization of Shinto and Buddhism since ancient times, as well as a connection with Mt. Hiko. The shrine is located in a place overlooking Mt. Kanmuri-dake, and has a lush green and sacred atmosphere. A stream flows through the grounds, and the scenery that changes with the seasons is spectacular. Let's take a walk together with Kandakeen and Hanakawa Sabo Park in the same area.
