The meeting point of the mountain hut six tenths of the way up the mountain and the Hyakumon waterfall trail marked the end of the road, and as such, was a busy area. Many huts had a characteristic design that included an earth floor which served as a passage where people could sit and rest. There is a deep forest above Nakanoyu, where you will encounter trees growing on top of large stones: a phenomenon unseen on ground level.
