I am starting to feel sad about the state of emergency. Now we are in the middle of spring and the weather is sunny but still not too humid it's the perfect time to hike and get outside. However leaving the prefecture is not advised and many car parks and facilities are closed. It's all for a good reason but still it seems sad. It is a good time to visit local mountains though for excercise and health. Munakata has some beautiful shrines and mountains the furthest of which are only really for mountain enthusiasts as they lack views and are steep to climb. I saw a large snake which made me jump and yelp. And a fellow mountain hiker with three very large dogs which growled at me and were very proud of themselves for finding some strange creature! Or maybe they though why is he wearing shorts..... a very strange creature. The area was beautiful though and well worth a visit once everything reopens even if just to climb up to Arajiyama and visit Miyajidake Shrine.
