Weekend trip to Yamanashi for visiting sunflower fields of Hokuto shi was extended by a day as weather looked good for Sunday. Leaving early from Kofu we were in time for first bus leaving for Tatamidaira from the Visitor center at Norikura Kogen. It’s billed as one of the easiest 3000 meter peak of Japan as the bus drops you at 2700. Though the elevation gain is just a little over 300m the trail was rocky & rough and my partner struggled a bit. It was wrong on my part to ask her to join me as she isn’t used to this kind of terrain, especially after the katanokoya hut. But slowly and patiently we made to the top peak at kengamine. Views were excellent enough for her to forget the pains of climbing. Descend was more difficult as there were long lines of hikers now descending and there was congestion at some points.
