Station to Station, A snowy hike in Saga 基山・権現山・九千部山・城山

Today I hiked from Haurda station to Tosu station going up Kiyama and across to Kusenbuyama via Gongenyama coming down to Tosu by Joyama. The hike started as usual, Kiyama is one of my favourite short hikes and I love how alive the mountain feels. The route to Gongenyama was long but it was easy to keep up a fast pace because the majority if the route was a mountain road. As I started to climb higher snow started to appear. Hiking up Kusenbuyama was very snowy not just on the ground but also it had begun to snow making the air icy cold. After lunch I headed down via Joyama, it was an interesting mountain with a nice and historic peak. I came down to Tosu station although it was quite far I followed some signs which said "Nordic" walking course so I followed the river through farm land before entering the city and reaching Tosu station. It was great to hike a healthy distance and explore new routes (I am running out of them in my local area!) I hope to walk the whole of the Sefuri mountain range sometime this year over a few days .
