Memo Mt. Mitake ~ Mt. Otake is a 1.1 kilometer point-to-point trail located near Nishitama, Tokyo, Japan that features a river and is rated as moderate. ▲To Mt. Mitake From Mitake Sta (JR Ome line) Buses run from Mitake Sta. to Takimoto Sta. (cable car station). The bus stop is just in front of Mitake Sta. (JR Ome line). You won't get lost, but you may not be able to ride if there are many people in line. The bus boarding time was about 6 mins in total. A cable car runs regularly from Takimoto Sta., and I was lucky enough to get on the train. The boarding time was less than 10 mins. The announcements that flow in cable car are also fun. When you arrive by cable car, there are small souvenir shops and an observation space in front of you. The view of Tokyo seen from there is also a highlight. On the way to Mitake Shrine, there is a narrow road like a residential area, but let's walk with confidence while looking at YAMAP! After that, you will arrive at the long stairs of Mitake Shrine. At this shrine, there were many dogs as well as humans because they pray for their dogs. After passing through the beautiful autumnal mountain path from Mitake Shrine, you will arrive at the trailhead of Mt. Mitake. ▲To Mt. Otake From Mt. Mitake I thought I'd head for Mt. Otake from "Okunoin" route, but at the fork, I went on a different path. However, I passed through the rocky area without any problems and arrived at the summit of Mt. Otake. I felt that the rocky area near the top of Mt. Otake was the most difficult point on this route. ▼To Mt. Mitake From Mt. Otake There was no route that I found particularly difficult for Okunoin on the downhill route. The sun was shining from the west, and the scenery was good and I could see the Kanto plain. ▼To Mitake Sta. From Mt.Mitake The cable car on the way back was crowded from about 2pm, and there was a long line. Here I was deeply moved by the warmth of the toilet seat near the cable car station. That's so amazing, thanks! There were several soba restaurants along the way to the cable car station, and I wanted to stop by next time :)
